On September 29th, 2024, our Mom, Patricia Ann King (nee Smith), passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Hospital after suffering a stroke. Pat was able to experience many visits from family and friends in the past six weeks which she so deeply appreciated.
Patricia was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Thomas John King, since September 24, 2017. She immigrated from the UK with Thomas, to Canada in 1957 and lived in London, Niagara Falls, Elliot Lake, Cochrane, Lakefield and finally in Peterborough. Patricia (Nanna) is survived by her three children and their spouses Stephen King (Kelly), Ian King (Mel), Susan King (Ken), her 6 grandchildren and spouses, Brittany King (Kyle), Jessica Berube (Marc), Brett King (Rebecca) , Rachel Beaton (Patrick), Cole Murduff (Jessica) and Kenny Murduff. She cherished her 9 great grandchildren, Paisley and Kharis King, Ashton and Dallas Berube, Parker, Diana and Banner King, Eleanor Beaton and Thomas Murduff.
Pat was kind, patient, and always placed others before herself. She was a much loved teacher at Adam Scott Collegiate for over 20 years and in retirement she volunteered at Bridgenorth Library, Activity Haven and participated in weekly line dancing and lunch meetings with friends. She loved her "special ladies group" and the friendships built on supporting each other on life's journey. Patricia was generous, loving and a wonderful listener. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
As per Patricia's wishes there will not be any formal funeral services or visitation. The family will be observing a private celebration of life at a future date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.comstockkaye.com for the family. Any donations in honour of Patricia will be gladly accepted by PRHC Foundation at https://prhcfoundation.ca/ where she was a regular donor.
