We have been trying to contact the Speck family to leave our condolences.  I worked with Wally in Toronto and were great friends with him back in the 1960s Living now in England we visited Mary and Wally in 2015 staying with them for a few days and met a lot of their family.  We would exchange Christmas cards and phone calls and those cards and calls stopped. We have tried to find a way of contacting them and sad to say,  this is the only way that we have been able to do so. It would be lovely if one of the family emailed us here in the UK and keep the contact. Sincerely ......Jan and Brian.  

I will always remember Aunt Sally’s smile and treasure our visits both as a child and an adult. No matter how much time passed it would seem like yesterday and she always welcomed us with open arms. You will be missed Auntie Sally.

Mary and Wally were one of a kind neighbors, although we were only neighbors for 4 years, we had a relationship that went beyond neighbors, from celebrating birthdays and Christmas to helping Wally with the TV, Mary with her computer,cutting the grass, shoveling the snow or growing corn in their backyard. Mary,s butter tarts were second to none and always willing to share her tarts and cookies. Mary and Wally were one of the original breakfast club members where by 10 of us would go out for breakfast once a month and we would all catch up on the street gossip. We missed them greatly since their move to Peterborough. 
Rest in Peace Mary, you will be missed

Nana, you were one of a kind. You lived a long beautiful life. You were lucky enough to marry a great man and raise 3 amazing sons together. You watched those sons marry 3 amazing women and give you 8 grandchildren and watched your grandchildren give you 7 great children (and knew about number 8!) And we were even more lucky to have an amazing Mother/grandmother/GG like you ❤ I will cherish every memory I have with you. I loved spending time with you and playing Yahtzee together. 
I love you very much, you will be greatly missed 🕊

So sorry for the loss of Mary. She was such a sweet lady and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to spend some time recently with her and her husband.



There was always a neighbourhood of moms to all us kids, Mrs. Speck was the best of the best, and sadly the last of the 'mom's' to go.  I will forever remember our kindness and generosity and those "you kids be careful" warnings.  We always knew we were safe in the Speck house.  Thank you <3
