Finished her journey at PRHC in her 78th year. Dear mother of Donald, Chris, Lisa, Eric, Allison and Karen (Scott Dean). Devoted Grandmother of Leena, Rachel, Karli, Joshua, Kellen, Neil, Alexandra and Jacob; great-grandmother of Timothy. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Myers and her parents Joseph and Alice (nee O’Connor) Sullivan. Closest and dearest companion for many years to Kata Vukovic and a dear friend to the Vukovic, Gauthier, Leggitt, Dzebo and Rawlings families. Marie’s generosity was well known to all who knew her; she loved people and was truly interested in everyone she met. She was born in New York; however she lived in Europe (Germany and Paris France) prior to moving to Canada, this made her appreciate and enjoy the best of many different cultures. As a Teacher’s Assistant, Marie had a unique gift to reach children with special needs on both ends of the spectrum. Among her friends she was affectionately called “Martha Stewart” due to her fabulous cooking. Her passion was gardening, especially Japanese style which was a peaceful retreat from the everyday hustle. Being an avid reader, Marie always had books around her. Playing solitaire was a challenge she took on with great gusto. Marie will always live in hearts of many who greatly benefited by knowing her in many different ways. In return, we all made her life journey as she said "great ride". A Celebration of Marie’s Life will take place from 12:00 – 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at her home (3-301 Carnegie Avenue). Memorial donations to Riverview Park & Zoo or Peterborough Library would be appreciated by Marie’s family. Arrangements entrusted to COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. “Sleep, my dear sleep,
May my sorrow be not too deep.
You will always be on my mind,
Till the postman rings my time.”
