It is with heartache, we announce the passing of Marg Green on Friday, June 22, 2012. Marg was predeceased by her parents George and Rose (nee Childs) Ewald of the Chatham area and her beloved husband Raymond who died in 1993. While living with Alzheimer’s Disease, Marg remained gentle and gracious, she still managed to show signs of endearment to her sons; Raymond (Dianna), David (Bernadette) , Peter (Nellie), and daughters; Kathy (Geoff) and Marion (Terry) and to her grandchildren; Michael (Michelle), Susan (Ed), Sarah, Rachel (Ben), Andrew, Brian, Michael Green, Jennifer (James), Brent (Krista), Melanie (Adam), Melissa (Tim), Tim (Carolyn), Kristin (Daniel), Stephen (Kristen) and now rejoicing with granddaughter Julie (1981); and her great-grandchildren; Hannah, Evan, Abigail, Emily, Maria, Micah, Megan, Anna, Isaac, Justin, Ethan, Emma, Noah, Hudson, Dyllon, Victoria, Benjamin, Nathaniel, Curtis and Mitchell. It was my privilege to visit Mom almost daily at Fairhaven, help her with meals and share some of her treasured memories while browsing through her photo albums with her. We treasure the recent memories of Mom, in a moment of recollection, whispering her grandchild’s name, a smile and a pat on the hand, her obvious enjoyment of Skyping with Kathy and Geoff in Calgary as well as Kathy’s extended visits, listening to Marion tell her of recent events in her children’s lives and a little wave and a gentle kiss on the lips upon leaving her room. Mom and Dad provided a wonderful, loving home to us and taught us to live lives based on Biblical principles. A favourite verse of Marg’s remains in our hearts today, Proverbs15:1 – A soft answer turns away wrath. Marg lived by these principles and encouraged us to memorize and do the same. We, her children, have each other to lean on and love, as we know that Mom will be a bigger part of our future than our past. Special thank-you to her family, brothers and sister-in-laws and their families and friends who took the time to visit Mom while in Fairhaven, especially to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who spent time with her, she loved you all unconditionally. Visitation will take place from 2-4 & 6:30- 8:30 pm on Thursday at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 29, 2012 at NORTHVIEW PENTECOSTAL CHURCH, 1000 Fairbairn Street (at Tower Hill Road). Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by Marg’s family. Online condolences may be made at www.comstockfuneralhome.com
