May 4, 1996 - July 14, 2023
(RMT, Fleming College Alumni, Recipient of the Lackner McLennan Insurance Ltd. Student Award)
Kelsey was in a sudden and tragic car accident while on her way to work in the early morning on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the age of 27. Her parents were also in the area and were minutes behind their daughter, only to be met by emergency crews who later informed them that Kelsey had died immediately. They stayed as close and as long as they could.
Kelsey was a wonderful daughter who continually exceeded the expectations of her parents, Dave and Donna Andrew. She was an adoring and devoted younger sister to her brother, Keevin Andrew, who was always on her mind. She will be unmistakably missed by her family, her furbaby Buster, her aunt Helen Leggett, uncle Ken (Judy) Montgomery, uncle Doug (Sharon) Montgomery, her many first cousins, second cousins and other extended family. She was a close friend to many, many people, forming special bonds with John Andres, Heather Kellett, Shirley Boone (Ryan Marshall), Alanah Bannister, Breanna Armstrong and Tori Coke.
Kelsey, along with her older brother shared a passion for music and they enjoyed singing with the Kawartha Treble Troupe and Kawartha Lakes Singers and would sing, whenever they spent time together as a duo or trio with John. She had a very special relationship with both Keevin and John. She played flute in the Lindsay Kinsmen Band and tuba in high school. They also shared a love of theatre, acting in many musicals with The King Street players. Her love of horses let her enter many local shows and fair parades. She was an active Lindsay Legion member, along with her parents, and together they enjoyed many Saturday night dances. Kelsey especially loved dancing into the late night with her dad by her side.
After high school, Kelsey joined her mom for Wednesday night practices with the Kawartha Kavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, it was something they could enjoy between mother and daughter. Kelsey grew to have an integral role in the Kavaliers, starting out in colour guard, then moving on to bass drum and for the past 2 years playing baritone. She absolutely loved being a Kavalier and considered many of them to be like a second family. Kelsey was also an original member of the performance ensemble group SOTA (Southern Ontario Twirling Association), proudly spinning and tossing flags across Ontario and Quebec. Kelsey previously worked as a homecare aide in the Kawartha Lakes and surrounding areas. She enjoyed working with and helping others and later enrolled in massage therapy school (RMT). She was a recent graduate of Fleming College who hit the ground running in her career, ready and eager to work. She found Cavan Chiropractic and on multiple occasions she would lovingly refer to the clinic as her "happy place". She was excited to see her patients improve in mobility leaving her treatments. She will be fondly remembered by Dr. Bonner and the entire team.
Kelsey was a beautiful young woman with a kind soul and an overwhelming personality. Family occasions, holidays and bringing people together were important and meaningful to her. She loved the outdoors, camping and exploring all of the local beaches. She was full of passion, love, laughter, and vitality. Kelsey was a daughter, a sister, a niece, a cousin, a family member, a friend and a team player, an engaged community member who was always eager to lift her peers and her loss will be felt by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and family will receive guests at Celebrations, 35 Lindsay St. N., Lindsay on Sunday, August 13th from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will continue from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. with a performance by the Kawartha Kavaliers at 4:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 67, 12 York St. N., Lindsay. In Kelsey's memory, a donation to the Kawartha Kavaliers Drum Corps Inc. would be appreciated. We invite you to share photos, fond memories or expressions of sympathy through www.comstockkaye.com
