CLARKE, Jean Morton (nee Craig) – At Fairhaven Home, Peterborough on Friday, March 11, 2011, in her 92nd year, Jean Clarke tripped the light fandango and embraced by her family, passed on from this life. Cherished wife of the late James Kenneth Clarke. Jean is remembered by her son Jim “Ted” and his wife Diane, and daughter Vicki. Her loving grandkids, Kristopher (Michelle), Brett (Hiromi), Wendy (Matt) and Meredith lovingly recall their warmest memories of the “Best Nana in the World”. Handmade sweaters, carpet sweeper rides, world travel, paper dolls, dinky cars, and “great-grandoggers” Chili and Lula tell the stories with humour and love. Predeceased by siblings Gordon A. Craig and Joseph B. Craig, the Craigs were raised in pre-war New Jersey. An accomplished tap and ballet dancer and an Irving Trust Company employee with a brain for numbers, Jean met Ken in the financial district of Manhattan. Life included moves from Brooklyn to Toronto, Cobourg to Peterborough. A woman of grace and beauty, Jean will be warmly remembered by friends and family. A memorial celebration of Jean’s life will be held at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, on Saturday, April 2nd at 1:30 pm. Reverend Ken Lowe officiating.
