BURN, Jean Eleanor (nee Smith) – June 4, 1929 – June 3, 2010 – Jean , beloved wife and partner in Christian ministry of Rev. Jim Burn for over 55 years, passed away in Calgary following an Alaskan cruise with the love of her life. Loving mother of Eleanor (Peter), Margaret (Gerry), Nancy (Paul) and Kevin (Janet). Cherished grandmother of Russell and Kirsten Landry; Tom and James LaRocque; Léo, Claire and Samuel Landry; and Jacob, Matthew and David Burn. Dear sister of Betty, Charles (Judy) and Gloria and sister-in-law of Anne and John (Dorothy). Also remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends. Jean was predeceased by her sister Mary, brother George, brothers-in-law Harry, Lloyd and Joe, and sister-in-law Carolyn. Jean was a very compassionate and caring person. Both family and friends benefited from her loving nature. Among her greatest pleasures was showering affection upon, and experiencing the love of her grandchildren. She took great pride in their accomplishments and those of her children. Visitation will be held at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Northminster United Church, 300 Sunset Boulevard, Peterborough.
