Hilda May Gardiner

After 100 years of a wonderful and engaged life, Hilda died at Extendicare Lakefield on Monday October 3, 2022. Hilda is predeceased by her parents, John and Hazel McConkey. The love of her life, Ron died September, 2020 after 72 years of marriage. She is survived by her two daughters Kathryn McConnell (Larry) and Nancy Thomas (Lanny), sister June McConnell (late Milt), nieces - Karen Phillips (Randy), Sylvia Jay (Keith), Barbara Waldron, Patti Cawker (Steve Chiang) and as well by their children. Ever considerate and always interested in those with whom she shared her life, Hilda was a friend in the truest sense of the word to so many whose lives she touched. A committed volunteer for 30 years at St Joseph’s Hospital and a long time member of Mark St United Church/UCW. The family would like to thank Dr B Hughes and all the Healthcare Professionals at Extendicare Lakefield, whose loving compassionate care allowed Hilda to live and then leave, this life with dignity. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at COMSTOCK-KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE 356 Rubidge St, Tuesday October 25, 2022. If desired, memorial donations may be made to University Health Network Foundation (Movement Disorder Research) or Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation.
