It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of Dad, Poppa, Great-Poppa, everyone's favourite Uncle, and dear friend, Gary Norman Lock, on Sunday June 2, 2024 at Peterborough Memorial Hospital.
Gary is pre-deceased by the love of his life Catherine (2015) and is survived by his children: Stephen (Charmaine), Doane and Wendy. Bonus Father to Julanne Heu (Robert), Erin Miller (Chad) and Lenore Terry (Michael). Proud Poppa to Garth, Jenna, Matthew, Megan, Ryan, Brendan and Caleb. Gary was also able to welcome his first Great-Grandchild Meredith before his passing.
Gary was born to Stan and Lily on June 7, 1940. He was little brother to Robert and William. With a desire to make a difference in public safety, Gary started his calling with Metro Toronto police force, before joining the Brampton police. Upon amalgamation, he transferred to the Peel Regional Police Service, where he retired in 1995. Gary was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing with his friends and family. Gary was an amazing golfer, and enjoyed beating the pants off of the younger crowd.
Family and friends are invited to attend a brief gravesite service and burial at Rosemount Memorial Gardens in Peterborough at 2551 Whittington Drive on Saturday June 15th at 1:00 pm. This will be followed by refreshments and conversation at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre at 356 Rubidge Street in Peterborough between 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family would respectfully request a donation, in kind, to The Oddfellows of Campbellford, Rebekah Temple in Madoc, or VON Canada. The family is very thankful for the "angels" that took special care of him.
