I miss KATZY, he was and remains a hero of mine and it was a great honor to of worked along side him over the course of my Policing career. In life there are the some, the many, the few and the dam few. KATZY was very much at the top of the list of the dam few.

In life you meet people who bring you joy by just being around them. Gary was that kind of person. Always warm and lively and a great big sense of humour. We resided next to Gary and Carol for over twenty years during the summer months. He would always tease us when he saw us coming that we were the noisy neighbours followed with a big laugh. It was always so nice sitting down and chatting about life, family and things happening in the world. Honestly there are not enough words to describe how lucky we feel to have known him. We are so very sad to hear this. We have been coming to spring rock every year for the past 7 years and spent many mornings enjoying coffee with Gary. He always had a story to tell and was very well versed in witty comments while watching us launch the boats. Our children spent many a days just hanging out with him and telling him stories and have been terribly upset since we shared the news. Our visit this year won't be the same and we will truly feel the void. Our deepest condolences to Carol and all the family and friends of Gary.

Sincere condolences to Carol and the family. I can't remember how many years it's been since the family came to Spring Rock but I guess it's over 40 years. 
Gary was always friendly and smiling and had great quips at the ready. Such a loss!

My whole life, Gary was my summertime neighbour. Quite honestly, I don’t remember a single summer where he and Carol weren’t a fixture next door, sitting in the gazebo greeting everyone as they walked past. When mom and I would drive in late at night, we’d always feel that much safer seeing their van parked out front, knowing that Gary—the ex OPP officer—was right there. He never ceased to bring a smile to my face and was the kindest man with a humour that had anyone and everyone in stitches. 

Gary, you will be so deeply missed.

Had the pleasure for 10 years working with Gary (Katzy) at Shoppers drug mart and a lot of fun we had. It was so nice Ed Heffernan another Shoppers driver and I got up to see Gary 2 weeks ago and he still had his sense of humor. Gonna miss you  and will never forget you Big Guy Rip my good friend.


Such a nice man.  I will miss floating in the lake with he and Ron on pool noodles up at the trailer.  I feel lucky I got to meet him, and am thankful for his friendship with my in-laws (Ron and Judy).
