F. Gary Downs

DOWNS, F. GARY (Retired Constable, O.P.P) – Peacefully, with his family at his side, after a brief battle with cancer, on Monday July 9, 2012, at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, in his 68th year. Gary was the beloved husband of Audrey (nee Price) for 43 years. Loving father of Michael (wife Heather Forsyth-Downs) and Peter (wife Alison Kelly). Dear brother of William (wife Marilyn) of Port Elgin, N.B., Mary Needle (husband Elmer) of Saint John, N.B., Ann Smith (husband Doug) of Lindsay, and the late Thomas (surviving wife Sheila) of New Richmond, PQ. Beloved brother-in-law of Ritchie Price (wife Julie) of Pointe-a-la-Garde, PQ. Gary will be missed by many other relatives and friends. Visiting will be held at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, on Thursday July 12, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., and at ST. STEPHEN’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 1140 St. Paul’s Street, on Friday July 13, 2012 from 10–11 a.m. A funeral service will follow at the church, at 11 a.m. The Reverend Sabrina Ingram will officiate. Interment at the Kempt Road Cemetery, Broadlands, PQ, on Tuesday July 17th at 1 p.m. In memory of Gary, donations to St. Stephen’s Memorial Fund, or a charity of your choice, would be gratefully acknowledged.
