Evelyn Bruce West

West, Katharine Evelyn (nee: Bruce) – Evelyn passed away on January 23, 2011 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, in her 87th year following a lengthy period of failing health. Beloved wife of Ken West who passed away in 2006. Loving mother of John Alexander West and his wife Amy (nee Walker). Dear sister of the late Grahame Bruce (survived by wife Thelma). Sister-in-law of Jim West (Alice), Edith Taylor (late Russell), Austin West (Vina), Alfred West (Cathy), Gerald West (Carolyn), the late Jessie and Art West. Evelyn’s best moments were either time in her gardens, time with family and friends, or baking, which she did almost everyday. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews, especially Patsy and Katy. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stephan Ragaz, Dr. Jon Archibald and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit. Friends may call at Comstock Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 356 Rubidge St. on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, 1140 St. Paul’s St., at 1:30 pm on Friday, January 28, 2011 with visitation prior to the service from 12:30 – 1:30 pm.
