Noble, Elinor Margaret (nee McClarty) – At Peterborough Extendicare with family by her side on Monday July 26, 2021 at the age of 100. Beloved wife of the late Geoffrey William Noble. Loving mother of Jerelene Spradbrow (Ralf), Stuart (Arlene) and Charles (Judy). Dear grandmother of Pauline, Karyn, Nicole, Lindsay, Jason and Courtney. Loving “GG” to Greyson, Iylie, Cael, Lacie, Celia, Jaxon and Maverick. Predeceased by her parents Frederick and Alice McClarty, her sister Lovisa “Billie” Bone and brother Edward. Elinor had many careers; she has been a private secretary, office manager and taught business in high school. Although her jobs may have changed, her passion for music never did. She began her singing in high school, singing with the Leslie Bell singers of Toronto. She was also a soloist in all the churches she attended. Then, when she and her husband relocated from Thornbury to Emerald Isle, she enjoyed being a part of several Peterborough singing groups (Goldentones, Jubilaires & Mapleridge Seniors Choir) She had a dynamic voice to match her dynamic personality and it will be greatly missed. Her lifelong love of sailing with her husband, took them on many an adventure including sailing down to Florida before it was a desired destination. Their other pastime of flying in aircraft built by her husband also fed her sense of adventure. If it was fun and exciting, Elinor was up for it. Wishing her fair winds on her new journey. A special thank you to the staff at Extendicare Peterborough, especially her favorite PSW’s, Taylor and Tara for being there when family couldn’t due to Covid restrictions.
A private family service will be held at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre August 7, 2021. In memory of Elinor, if desired, donations to the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) or Kawartha Food Share would be appreciated by the family.
