Edward Ignatius Barker

Peacefully passed away, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Lakefield Extendicare at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Kathleen. Loving father of Michael (Sonja), Lynda Golloher (Jim), and Phillip (Julie). Proud grandfather of Karina (Anthony), Dexter, Jamie (Todd), Michael (Chloe), Andrew (Sarah) and Mark (Laura); great-grandfather of Morgan, Aidan, Jacob, Henry, Gordon, Jimmy and Violet. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada and the UK.

Born in Bradford, Yorkshire, Ed was in the Royal Marines. He was an auto mechanic and fixer of anything. Ed enjoyed model making, boat building, listening to jazz, and playing golf. Ed’s family would like to thank the Community Care team and the Lakefield Extendicare staff for the exceptional care they have shown. In keeping with Ed’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held. If desired, donations to Community Care www.commcareptbo.org would greatly be appreciated by his family.
