Dorothy May Allday

Born Nov. 3, 1931-May 13, 2023

Peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loving family at PRHC. Dorothy Allday (née Hutchison) beloved wife of the late Frank Allday. Daughter of Sydney and Elizabeth Hutchison (both predeceased). Loving Mother to Fred Allday (Shirley), Rita Condon (Mike), Sydney Allday (Marilynne), Anne Heffernan (Pete), Frank Allday Jr. and Lynne Huffman (Tim). The Best Grandma Ever to Jenny, Katie, Laura (Steve), Amanda (Bill), Giles, Niki (Sonny), Dalyn (Scott), Jake (Victoria), Luke, Sarah, and Warren (Predeceased). Dear Great Grandma Dot to Xavier, Preston, Archie, Augustus, Dorothy, Hannah, and Brookson. Longtime and loving friend of Margareta Atkinson. Predeceased by her brothers Fred, Sydney, Albert, and Ron Hutchison. Sister-in-Law to the late Rita Westwood (Raymond), Doreen Brown, the late Jack Allday and the late Arthur (Edna).

Mom was born in Yorkshire England. She met the love of her life (Dad) as a teenager. They had six children and immigrated to Canada in 1966, where they fulfilled their dreams and had a wonderful life. Part of that was becoming proud Canadian Citizens. She was always thankful for her life and trusted in God faithfully. Our family would like to thank the PSW’s from Nightingale and WeCare, the staff from B4, and D2 Palliative Care for your excellent care of our mother.

A private family burial will take place at Little Lake Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 1550 Lansdowne St, Peterborough on Monday May 22, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. If so desired donations to PRHC Palliative Care.
