Diane Carl

Carl, Diane (nee Webster) – Passed quietly in her home on the morning of June 8th, 2017 at the age of 78. Loving wife and best friend of Art Carl (deceased). Diane was also a caring mother to Lori (Rod) and Scott (Shelley) and beloved grandmother of Bethany (Joel), Jennifer, Allister, Morgan, David, William and Finlay. Diane delighted in being a doting G.G. to Thomas. She was likewise a devoted sister of Joan (Ike Jones), Linda (Bill Field), Don Webster, predeceased by June (Jack Dunford), and Bill (Shirley Webster). She was a valued sister-in-law to Ferne (Gary Earle), Judy (Tom Beauchamp), June (deceased) and her husband Oz Westlake, Reg Carl (deceased) and his wife Jean and will be missed by her expansive family. Diane was a force to be reckoned with, dedicated to serving her community and working tirelessly toward its betterment. She was an active member of the Peterborough Lioness Club for 40 years, and had in recent years become an integral member of the St. Barnabas Anglican Church. Diane was also an advocate for worker’s rights, fighting for compensation for countless former GE Employees. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy of strength and selflessness will live on. Visitation will be held at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Lioness service at 6:45 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 1040 Hilliard Street on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. If so desired, in memory of Diane, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
