It was always such a treat to hear Colin pipe at convocation for many years. It's truly the best part of the year at Trent and it was always a pleasure to speak with Colin during convocation. Sending condolences to his family during this difficult time. The hundreds of people who have volunteered at convocation over the years will all miss Colin piping in the students.

To Colin's  Family:  I had the pleasure of working with Colin at Trent when he was a member of the Physical Resources department and of interacting with him as the piper for concovation over 15 + years.  I am so sorry to hear of his passing and offer my prayers and thoughts to you (his family) in this difficult time.  He was an awesome piper and he always enjoyed piping in the students across the bridge and onto the stage.  We shared many jokes and conversations while trying to get the students and faculty organized.  He will be missed by me.

I was so sorry to hear this news. We're thinking of you, Anne, and all of the Trinity family. Colin was a dear friend of my mum and dad's and one of the kindest souls anyone could know. I often think of Colin and his magnificent pipes; we were honoured to have him play the recessional at our wedding. It was perfect and for mum, I think, a wee taste of home. "There's none more Scots than the Scots abroad."

Colin was my great uncle and I have very fond memories of him . He was a kind, cheerful man with a zest for life and a love of his homeland Scotland. Colin was generous and was a great host when my family and I visited him in Peterborough. We had great fun visiting the cottage and going for a swim in Pencil Lake every morning before breakfast!

I also enjoyed his many visits to us in Scotland over the years. He had many anecdotes and stories to tell. I also love that he never lost his strong Scottish accent! I will miss him greatly.

I have known Colin for over 50 years, ever since our time together in the CGE pipe band. We both served in the Navy and had many pleasant chats over the years at various gatherings.  Colin was always a gentleman. My thoughts are with the family at this sad time.

I was saddened to learn of Colin's Passing. I had often wondered about him as he and my dear late husband, Bill Wilkie, worked together at CGE. Bill would tell great stroies of their times together and what a wonderful piper he was. Bills daughter Anne and myself were privleged to have our hearts filled with peace as he played for Bill's funeral, music I shall never forget. The couple short visits I had with Colin showed me what a special man he was, gentle, kind and a had good sence of humour. May you feel God's loving and comforting arms lift and support you during this difficult time.

We extend our sympathy to Anne and the family on Colin's passing.  We have such warm memories of him, most associated with Trent University and especially his piping of the graduating students across the bridge.  What a sonorous edge that added to the celebrations, and how it was appreciated by the family members and friends gathered for the occasion!  In more recent years we appreciated the opportunity to renew our friendship with Colin (and with Anne of course) through Peterborough New Horizons Band.  We each spent pleasant intervals with Colin while Anne's band was practicing, and enjoyed finding strands of shared experience to reflect on with Colin.  And the Sunshine Band jaunts to the south were very welcome.  Comparing fine dining offerings in the restaurant at the resort in the Dominican Republic was great fun.  Anne, your love for and patience with Colin in those years was  truly inspiring.   He will be remembered by so many of us with great warmth...  a remarkable man!

To the family and friends of Colin, we send our heartfelt sympathy, on behalf of the Peterborough New Horizon Band board and members.  Anne was a long time active member of the band for many years, playing clarinet, and Colin went with her when she played in the sunshine band.  Colin wasn't in the band but played bag pipes and did pipe the graduating students at Trent across the bridge every year for at least 10 years.

I was the curator of Hutchison House Museum from 1999 - 2020 and in all of that time Colin Campbell was our piper at Hogmanay (New Years). He piped in our First Footer as well as the haggis for the Burns address. I can only think of one or maybe two occasions when Colin wasn't available. He also helped us celebrate some other special events too. His smile truly was infectious & he will surely be missed by all of those who's lives he touched so warmly.

I send my deepest condolences to Anne and family.  It was my pleasure to travel with Anne and Colin to Panama with New Horizon Band just before Covid-19 shut everything down.  I enjoyed the opportunities to listen to Colin’s stories of the past during the week.  He was very positive and entertaining.  I count myself lucky to have met him.

Strangely enough, we were speaking of Colin only last week as we passed by his old home.
We fondly remember Colin, his passion for all things Scottish especially his love of the pipes.
We remember his visits to my late mother when he undertook the very difficult task of learning Gaelic. We were very privileged to have Colin play his pipes at our youngest son's wedding and also at my mother's funeral.

Dear Anne and family;  Bonnie and I were so very sorry to hear of Colin’s passing. Colin was a gentleman’s piper and had a kind and humorous heart. He used his piping talents with the Toronto Scottish Regiment, The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment and Port Hope pipe band of late and as a single piper for many special events. Sincere condolences to the family for their loss. I always enjoyed a chat with Colin, which often included a joke or two.  Most of my memories were tied to Trinity United Church and events that involved his beloved bagpipes. Although not my favourite musical instrument, Colin’s playing was always special, even magical. His bagpipe playing sometimes added to the festivities at Peterborough’s Dragon Boat Festival and was much appreciated. His warm personality and the best of Scotland, and will be missed by many. RIP Colin.

I was a  Trent prof for many years, and always appreciated Colin's piping of the graduates to the commencement ceremony. He added an important essence of both history and ceremony to the day.

I will always remember mid-summer Pencil Lake evenings, when your Dad would go to the end of the dock and play his bagpipes, accompanied by Tara ( if I remember your doggie's name correctly)
