MURRAY: Barbara (nee Hickey): At Peterborough on Sunday, February 6th, 2011 in her 92nd year. Barbara, beloved wife of the late Richard Murray (d. 1984). Daughter of the late Henry Hickey and Katherine O’Brien. Dear sister of Maureen Mulhall and her husband Vernon. Predeceased by her sister Helen Hiland and the late Edward Hiland, and her brothers William Hickey and his wife Norma, and Reverend John J. Hickey. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Edward Hiland (Antonia), Katherine McKeen (Stuart), Peter Hiland, Sheilagh Breskey (Jeffrey), Mary Mulhall, John Mulhall (Susan), Bishop Michael Mulhall, Henry Mulhall (Cara), John Hiland predeceased, and grand nieces and nephews; Edward and Elizabeth: Marion, Philip, Sharon and Sandra: Michael, Patrick, and Catherine. Barbara was educated at St. Mary’s Convent and St. Peter’s High School as well as St. Joseph’s Convent, Toronto. Her business career included the Toronto Dominion Bank as well as the offices of the Canadian General Electric. Later she assisted her husband Dick at their Charlotte Street store. Barbara was a life-long parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Peter-In-Chains and in her early years an active member of the Catholic Women’s League and the Legion of Mary. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the KAYE FUNERAL HOME ‘MEMORIAL CHAPEL’ 539 George Street N., on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. (Parish Prayers 7:00 p.m.). Funeral Mass in the Cathedral of St. Peter-In-Chains on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. His Excellency Most Reverend Michael Mulhall, Bishop of Pembroke, officiating.
