(Retired employee Canwell Building Supplies) – After a long hard fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s at Fleming on Friday, January 4, 2013 in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Jean Meiklejohn (nee Blodgett) for 56 years. Andy was the much loved and proud father of Stuart Meiklejohn (Louise) of Napanee, Heather Barber of Calgary and Andrea Forbes (Glen) of Fifes Bay. Loving Poppa of 8 grandchildren, Andrew Meiklejohn, Marise Meiklejohn, Amy Parashis (Dennis), Matthew Barber (Lisa), Alaric Barber, Samuel Barber, Patricia Forbes and Kevin Forbes. Great Poppa of Chloe, Spiro and Arthur Parashis; Faith and William Barber. Son of the late Stuart and Mary Meiklejohn. Brother of Barbara Barrett (the late Patrick), Paul Meiklejohn (the late Joyce), Robert Meiklejohn (Phylis), Douglas Meiklejohn (Sheila) and the late Beth Colby-Bedard. Son-in-law of the late Arthur & Margaret Blodgett. Best friend and brother-in-law of Gordon Blodgett (the late Ruth), Norman Blodgett (Doreen), Mary Stillman (Jim), Barb VanLeewen (Tony), the late Ron Blodgett (survived by his wife Molly) and the late John Blodgett (survived by his wife Barbara). Andy retired from Canwell Building Supplies, where he was an award winning truck driver for many years. After retiring he embarked on his favorite career as a school bus driver for J. LeBlanc Bus Lines. A member of All Saints Anglican Church, where he served as a choir member for many years. Andy’s sense of humour and sparkling smile will be greatly missed by all those who loved and adored him. Visitation will be held at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, from 6-9 pm Tuesday January 8, 2013. Funeral Service to be held from the ALL SAINTS ANGLICAN CHURCH, 235 Rubidge Street, on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 11:00 am.
