Terry was our friend and the pastor who brought Christ back into our lives.  He will live in our memories and in our hearts forever.  A good man!  We are certainly in a better place for having known him.  Last remembrance was a family wedding, but many others live on in our hearts including Disney World, and choir.  Thank you Terry!

Zane, Tracey, Kelly, you have my sincere condolences. TJ was on my favorites list. Last remembrance was being at his ordaining and dinner with his in laws. He did visit us several time here in FL and we loved those visits. And I certainly remember whenever we visited his family in Columbus, he and his brother would 
run hide from my hair cutting tools. Memories.........

My prayers and condolences to Terry Jack's children and family.  He was a kind, gentle and devoted man.  As his cousin, I have many fond memories of him; his quick wit, often-times corny jokes, constant optimism and ready smile.  He will be truly missed.

Terry was a good man and a great pastor.  I graduated from OSU and MTSO three years before he did and we retired the same day from the West Ohio Conference.  We are deeply saddened by his death and pray that you might know the full depth of the grace of God in your time of grieving and healing.

Dear  Stacy, Kelly and Zane,

Terry, my wife DeeDee and I met at Methesco (The Methodist Theological School in Ohio) in 1971 when he became an M.Div. student there. We became good friends then and shared the cottage at 415 Lynn Street, Lakeside for 25 years.
This last year he sent me a cup from the cupboard in order to celebrate the good memories we had of those years.
He was always a very loving, caring and understanding man, through his
trials and challenges. I don't know how he keep sane and loving through it all.
He was so proud of how you 2 girls turned out and very proud of Zane and his accomplishments in school and afterward.

Your Dad and grandpa saw our three kids, Adam, Amy and Allison,  grow up too, meeting at Lakeside every
year from about 1971 through 1996. I stopped going to Lakeside in 1996 when I left parish ministry and became a hospice chaplain in Dayton. I really missed our yearly gatherings. We will always remember Terry with great affection.

I will see you at the funeral service  in Perrysburg on Saturday.

Pastor Terry will be missed by one and all.  He was there for me when I needed him most.  He inspired me and brought God back into my life.  For this I will always remember him, along with his wonderful sermons and stories of his family.  He was truly a wonderful man.  God Bless.

I had lost touch with Terry years ago, but will always remember him. 1st as a group leader at Lakeside Methodist camp when he encouraged us girls to add sugar to the water balloons we were throwing at the guys, then as a fellow student at OSU. He was so determined to get into the ministry. A bunch of us would study in the old Ohio Union and urge each other on. We were there at his graduation from Methodist Theological College. I am truly honored to have known Rev.Terry Powell,ever since I met his Beautiful daughter Kelly in Lakeside, when I was a teenager.  Will never forget his sense of humor - wisdom - and belief in me. Terry was my cousin along with a lot of others.  We have a big family and we also have big hearts.  Although we were miles apart, he will be truly missed.  My deepest sympathy goes out, not only to his family, but to his church family as well.  We love you Terry!

One of our fond memories was when Terry greeted the children one Sunday morning during the children's sermon by saying;"Good morning,I'm Pastor Powell your cute little minister." Well, heaven has gained a "cute little minister" and we have lost a very special friend in body but not in spirit. When our disbelief or denial passes, we will miss him so very much.

We have all lost a wonderful pastor and friend. Pastor Terry was not only a devoted church leader, but also a cherished friend. He touched our lives in so many ways from presiding over our marriage, our mother's funerals, to visiting whenever our family was in need of a shoulder to lean on from time to time. He always had a hug and a smile when we saw him in various places after his retirement from FUMC Perrysburg. We are sad for his passing, but we also know he would want us to celebrate his life and his journey with his savior. Deepest sympathies to Zane and the entire Powell Family. Such a great loss to not only the family but to the church community.  Terry had a way a turning a frown upside down. If they have departments in Heaven I am sure Terry is heading up the wellness one.   He will be missed but the teachings he left us will be with us forever.

Pastor Terry will be greatly missed and I will miss the advise he always gave me.  Pastor Terry always understood why I had to leave the church but still stayed in contact with him for his love of GOD and understanding.  He was a great mentor and I will always remember him and continue to do the work he showed me I could do.  God bless the family and I know I have a guardian angel forever.  He was the first Methodist Pastor to speak at Catholic Memorial and we loved him for that.  Rest in peace.  Love you.
