James Knight

James B. Knight, 68, of Perrysburg, OH died, Monday, May 5, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. Jim was born in Toledo, OH on November 27, 1945 and was married in Rossford, OH to Denise L. Mahaffey. Jim worked for 33 years as a Toledo police officer as a Fatal Accident Investigator and a Background Investigator for future police officers. He was also a member of the police force Swat Entry Team, retiring in 2001.

He is survived by his wife, Denise; three children, Christopher, Jody, and Stephanie; daughters of the heart, Ursula (Terry) Durden of Toledo, OH, Sarah (Cincy) Doss of Apache Junction, AZ, and Amanda (Cory) Peterlin of Petersburg, MI; grandchildren, Cameron, Cody, Collin, Conner, Alex, Dylan, Marisa, Carson, Wyatt, Jessica, Justin, and James; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Dominic, and Sophia; sister, Melissa Knight of Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Pacquette Knight, and his daughter, Lori Knight Smith of Millbury, OH.

Friends will be received from 2:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133) where a Memorial Service will be at 7:00 P.M.. Burial services will be private.
