Sistos “Al” Alphonso Sanchez was born on Mar 28, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA to Tomas Sanchez and Jesus Ramos. His siblings include Esther, Antonio, Carlos, Tomas, Virginia, Josie, Manuel and Albert. Al graduated from Garfield high School and two years later joined and served in the Army from 1962-1966. He was a Paratrooper in the Army and part of the PAR 7 AR 635-205 in Korea. Al worked for Ford Motor Co. in their parts distribution center in Los Angeles for 40 years before retiring in 2008. He moved to Perris, CA in 1990 when he met and married his wife Darlene. He lived in Riverside County for over 30 years. Al was a devoted Christian, beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather.
Al married Darlene Francis Smiley on July 7, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nevada. At Al’s passing they just celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary. Al had four children from a previous marriage: David, Diana, Valerie, and Denise. Darlene also had a son from a previous marriage: Wade, which Al raised as his own. Both Al and Darlene have ten grandchildren; Johnny, Brittney, Christopher, Ashley, Timothy, Savannah, Andrew, William, Kyla, and Kade. and two great grandchildren: Serenity and Allison.
As a devoted husband, father and grandfather, Al spent most of his time with his family and church. However in his free time, he enjoyed many things, which included going to church and participating in prayer groups, a devoted christian, loved watching football and politics, working out and fishing.
Al (81) passed on September 21, 2022, peacefully at Riverside University Hospital, surrounded by family. He will always be remembered for his joy and love for our almighty father, his silent strength, and for being the “calm” in all our lives. We will be forever grateful for your love and prayers. You will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Al will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Miller Jones Mortuary and Crematory, 1835 N. Perris Blvd, Perris, CA 92571. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 21, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, 1835 N. Perris Blvd, Perris, CA 92571. A committal service will occur Friday, October 21, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
