Wilma Pfeiffer

Born February 21, 1931 in Buckley, IL to Joseph and Emma (Lehman) Young; she married Eldon A. Pfeiffer on June 29, 1958 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1999 in Peoria.

Surviving are her daughter, Julie Pfeiffer of Chicago; her sister, Liz (Steve) Shively of Peoria; and her brothers, Laurence (Karla) Young and Marvin (Dorothy) Young, both of Buckley.

Also preceding in death were four brothers, her twin William, Robert, Kenneth and Leslie Young.

Wilma will be remembered as a devoted mother and homemaker; as a member of First United Methodist Church in Peoria and its Wesley Class for 50 years; and for hosting family gatherings and parties.

She was also a member of the Methodist Women’s Service League, Entre Nous, Peoria Garden Club and as a volunteer for Loaves & Fish.

Wilma traveled the world with her husband on assignments for his job with Caterpillar, spending time in Switzerland and Hong Kong. Also in retirement she enjoyed traveling around the country in their RV.

She loved to read and enjoyed classes through OLLI as well as family retreats to Florida.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 17, 2017 at First Methodist Church in Peoria with additional visitation one hour prior to the service at church.

Memorials are suggested to First Methodist Church in Peoria or to UnityPoint Health Methodist Hospice.
