William "Bill" E. Sharpe

He was born May 28, 1926, to Edward Sharpe and Eileen Smith in Detroit, Michigan. After serving directly out of high school in the US Navy from 1944-1947, he married Persefone “Sue” Balanos on May 5, 1951 in South Rockwood, MI. She preceded him in death in 2018. Also, preceding him were his parents, and two sisters.

For the past few years he has resided with his daughter Anne (Daniel) Binz in North Augusta, SC. He is also survived by two grandsons: Matthew (Jeannie) Binz of Downers Grove, IL, Michael (Abby) Binz of Clarendon Hills, IL; four great grandchildren; brother Harvey (Beverly) Sharpe of Venice, FL; sister Patricia Wilson of Stanton MI.

A long-time resident of Pekin, Illinois, Bill retired from Witco Chemical. He enjoyed lots of golf, bowling, and tending their vegetable garden—all activities that he shared with Sue when they were both able. Prior to his move to South Carolina, he was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church.

Private funeral services will be at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel with burial at Parkview Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois.
