William “Bill” Charles Flora Sr, 76 of Peoria, passed away on January 27, 2016 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria surrounded by his family. He was born July 17, 1939 in Peoria to the late Harry and Eleanor (Workman) Flora. Bill graduated from Woodruff High School and married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Maloney on April 26, 1957 in Peoria and they shared 58 years of memories. Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon; one daughter, Sheryl (Charles) Spear, two sons, William Jr. (Andria) and Kenneth (Denise); seven grandchildren, Joe Spear, William C. (Kate) Flora III, Ryan (Jessica) Flora, Elaine “Missy” Spear, Grant Flora, Cody Flora and Casey Flora; four great grandsons Aiden, Isaac, Elijah and Deacon Flora. Bill was a member of the Steamfitters Local #353 for 57 years. Twenty-five of those years were at Pabst Brewing and he last worked at Gingher Process Piping in East Peoria until he retired in 1995 at the age of 56. After retiring, Bill and Sharon enjoyed traveling together, particularly their trip to Australia and various Caribbean Islands. They especially enjoyed spending summers at their cabin in Minnesota fishing, boating and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. Bill was a member of the Shriners for 55 years Masonic services will be at 4:00 pm Tuesday, February 2, 2016 and will be followed by visitation until the time of funeral services at 6:00 pm at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Memorials are suggested to the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home or Northwoods Community Church.
