He was born September 14, 1939 in Peoria to Earl and Faye (Beames) Mauerman. He married Janice Lute on March 8, 1976 in Peoria. She survives along with six children: JoAnn Riley of Hesperia, CA, Theresa (Stephen) Shehorn of Indianapolis, IN, Earl R. (Mary) Mauerman of Morton, Juanita Honeycutt of Phoenix, AZ, Ron (Patti) Mauerman of Tremont, Robert (Jamie) Mauerman of Pekin, 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Charlotte Knupp, and one great-grandson.
Willard lived in the Peoria area his whole life. He worked for Jack Johnson at his gas station during his high school years and graduated from Peoria High School.
Willard worked out of the Local IBEW 34 in Peoria for over 40 years retiring in 2002.
He was a member of the Masonic Temple # 46 A.F.&A.M. He was the Master of the Lodge in 1969. He was also a member of the Peoria Scottish Rite, Mohamed Temple Shrine, the River Valley Sportsman’s Club, Tremont Sportsman Club, Harley Owners Group, the Christian Motorcyclists Association, International Coleman Collectors Club, and the Central Illinois Hosta Society.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Funeral services will be Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
