She was born on September 14, 1927, in Peoria, Illinois to Albert and Ethel Ruesch, Jr.
Ginny was a graduate of Manual High School and Stephens College – Columbia, MO. After college she worked in Peoria at her father’s business, Ruesch Sash & Door.
In 1950 she married Donald Woerner of Peoria who worked across the street from her father’s business. They were married 68 years. Being a wife, mother, & grandmother were Ginny’s most loved vocations that God called her to do.
Playing golf, bowling, knitting, reading, and traveling the world with her husband were some of the other joys of her life. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Mt. Hawley Country Club.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Tom) Goldsmith, grandsons Ryan (Lori) Goldsmith and Adam (Erin) Goldsmith, and two great-granddaughters all living in the Phoenix, Arizona area. She also leaves behind dearly loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her parents and sister, Dorothy Baker preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 14, 2023 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Redeemer Lutheran Church – 6801 N Allen Rd. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria immediately following the service. Arrangements are through Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home.
