He was born November 19, 1942 in Rockford, IL to Tony and Mary (Sparacino) Scoma. Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Diane (Poulos) Scoma whom he married on Jan. 25, 1965 in Rockford, IL.
Also surviving are his 3 sons, Jeff (Sydney) Scoma of Seattle, WA, Troy (Renee) Scoma of Tempe, AZ, Tommy Scoma of Dallas, TX; and 3 grandchildren, Gianna, Ally and Luke.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Tom earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Bradley University. He put himself through school by playing his Saxophone as a member of the Armadas band. He also toured Japan, New York and the entire east coast playing his Sax. Tom also played duplicate bridge. He loved to travel, especially to places like Sicily, Hawaii and Greece.
Tom’s true passion was his family. He especially enjoyed his time spent with his grandchildren.
Tom was the owner of multiple Bingo halls in Central Illinois. He also owned and operated Collector’s World and Big League Sports.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Peoria. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
