Peoria – Adams, Terry Glenn, 67, of Peoria, IL passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at his residence. He was born March 28, 1947 in Hyannis, MA to L. Dean and Marie (Young) Adams. Terry married Marcia Burnside on September 28, 1989 on the mountain side above Emerald Bay Lake Tahoe, CA.
Terry was a United States Army veteran serving in the 526 Engineered Detachment in Vietnam. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 4999 in Chillicothe, IL. After his service to our country, Terry married Linda Sweeney and they were blessed with two wonderful children. They later divorced.
Terry went to work for Caterpillar and retired after thirty-five years in marketing management. After his retirement, he attended the marketing retiree’s breakfast club on a frequent basis.
Terry was an artist, engineer, mechanic, contractor, woodworker, loved to solve problems and could fix anything. His hobbies included Nascar, any and everything Mustang, learning how things worked, technology, gadgets, and winters in Florida. But he especially loved the time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his mother Marie Adams of Chillicothe, IL, wife Marcia Burnside of Peoria, IL, son Brian (Lani) Adams of East Peoria, IL, daughter Nikki (Scott) Fisher of Peoria, IL, step-sons; Raymard Miller of Colorado Springs, CO, Robert (Debbie) Miller of Chicago, IL, and Peter (Cindy) Miller of Washington, IL, fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers; Robert (Sherry) Adams of Chillicothe, IL, Randy Adams of Peoria, IL, and his sister Kathy Jarman of Chillicothe, IL. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Donald Adams.
Terry was a wonderful son, husband, father, and grandfather.
A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be held at 2 pm Friday, October 24, 2014 at Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Cremation rites will be accorded. A private interment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
