Stephen Lamont Collins-Porter

Stephen Lamont Porter, 33, of Peoria, departed this life on Monday, March 20, 2023 at his home. Stephen was born on February 11, 1990, a son of Stephen Lamont Collins and Carol R. Porter. Stephen attended Woodruff High School in Peoria, IL. He previously worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for many years before leaving to pursue a career with Rivian in Bloomington, IL.

In addition to his full-time job, Stephen enjoyed his life as a talented musician but most of all he enjoyed being a father and spending time with his children. Stephen was a caring, loving, and known by his family and friends as a natural comedian, because he filled every room he entered with laughter and joy. Stephen was a true light, an amazing father, and a great son and brother that will truly be missed.

Stephen leaves to cherish his precious memory: his eight children, Stephen Porter Jr., Stephon Porter, Jayden (JP) Porter, Sincere Porter, Jayda Porter, Aayavh Porter, Layla Porter, Lundyn Porter; his mother of Peoria; his father of Peoria; his maternal grandmother Dorothy Watson, of Peoria, IL; two brothers, Justin Porter (Cassaundra Porter) of San Antonio, Texas and Jason Porter of Peoria, IL; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Stephen was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather James Porter.

Stephen's funeral service will be private at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Pastor Renetta Watson will officiate.
