Ronald W. White, 94, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at his residence. He was born on December 25, 1920 in Brownsville, Maryland to Rome and Viola (Deemer) White. He married Bernice “Bea” Traeger on July 20, 1945 in Hannibal, Missouri. She survives.
He is survived by seven children, Ron (Sherry) White of Bartonville, Randy White of Peoria and Mike (Sherry) White of Pekin, Marianne Holman of Pekin, Judy (Jerry Loos) Boles, Sue (Les) Howell and Kathy (Melvin) Anglin all of Peoria. He has 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandrites conducted by the US Army and the Tazewell County Military Rites Team.. Memorials may be made to the OSF Hospice or to the Peoria Honor Flight Program. Arrangements are by the Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel. He served in the European Theater during WWII in the Army Infantry. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars. He was honored to be on the Inaugural Peoria Honor Flight. He worked in the stock house for 35 years at the Pabst Brewing Company in Peoria Heights. He was a member of the Pabst Retirees. Ron was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Peoria and was a charter member of the St. Jude Council, Knights of Columbus #4333, in 1994 he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for the St. Jude Knights of Columbus, he was also a Past Grand Knight of St. Jude Council 3rd Degree. He was also a “55” Plus Club Member. Ron was a die-hard Chicago Cub fan during his life.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Peoria. Father Martin Mwongyera will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior the services on Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria with military
