Roma Dea Payne

Roma D. Payne, 81 of Peoria, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at her home with her family at her bedside. She was born January 4, 1935 in Marceline, Missouri to Gilbert and Anna (Raw) Eads. She married Chester E. Payne on August 8, 1949 in Missouri and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1999 in Peoria. Surviving are her children Rene’ (Terry) Schulz of Elmwood, Lisa Crujido of Prescott, Arizona, Scott (Alice) Payne of Peoria, Jason (Penny) Payne of Dunlap, Shawn (Stacie) Payne of Peoria and Christian (Janelle) Payne of Peoria; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, her sister, Martha (Gerald) Foster of Bartonville; and many nieces and nephews. Her brother, Jack Eads and one grandson, Jerrad Payne preceded her in death. Roma was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Creve Coeur. She was active with CWF and taught Sunday school at Howett Street Christian Church for many years. She worked as an EKG technician at OSF St Francis Medical Center and retired after 30 years of service. Roma was committed to her family and was loving and supportive of her children and grandchildren. She loved nature, all animals and gardening. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel with the Rev. Dwight Winnett officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the chapel. Burial will follow services at the Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials are suggested to her church or your charity of choice.
