He was born May 15, 1940 in Peoria to Morse and G. Marie (Clark) Turner. They preceded him in death.
He married Susan Runion on July 1, 1978 in Peoria. She survives along with four children: R. Dan (Sherrie) Turner of Florida, Carrie (Dale) Jenkins of Texas, Brian (Jen) Turner of Peoria, and Jennifer (Manish) Kedare of Texas. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Robert was a devout born-again Christian, saved by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal savior. Don’t leave Earth without Him.
Robert was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving four years from 1958 to 1962.
Following his time in the Military, he worked at WABCO for 10 years before taking a position at Caterpillar, Inc. where he spent the next 26 years in Data Processing. He retired in 2000.
Robert was an avid pistol shooter specializing in bull’s-eye and speed shooting. He also competed in the Service Rifle CMP as a Master (Civilian Marksmanship Program). Robert was a member of the National Rifle Association and the River Valley Sportsmen’s Club.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Graveside services with Military Honors will be Monday, July 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
