Richard L. Rainey

Born May 28, 1949 in Parkersburg, WV to Frank L. and Katherine (Marsteller) Rainey; he married Kristine Stone on November 12, 1988 in Peoria and she survives.

Also surviving are his sons, Daniel of Peoria, Scott (Deisy) of Cromwell, IN and Jason (Stephanie) of Acworth, GA; his grandchildren, Bridgette, Brandon, Megan, Trevor, Kimberly, and Jocy; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his cousin, Mike Ashby.

Dick spent most of his life, 40+ years, in the construction industry and for the last 23 years was the owner of Gutters and More in East Peoria, currently serving as a Vice President of the company.

He was a member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Peoria and the Timber Lake Club of Peoria.

Through his travels for business over the years, Dick made many wonderful friendships throughout the country. Dick knew the value of friendship; like that he shared with his hunting and fishing buddy Andy Matarelli and his lifelong friend, Norb Mendleski of Phoenix. A man doesn’t gain and keep friendship without high integrity and that will be a hallmark for many when they think of him.

The family takes comfort knowing that Dick got to see his beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series before he passed and now will celebrate with all of the Cub fans who’ve gone before.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Friday, November 11, 2016 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, 2408 West Willow Knolls Dr, Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, November 12th, also at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded after the funeral.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Great Peoria Honor Flight.
