He died with his family and friends at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Stout and unpretentious Randee combined a cerebral demeanor with fierce advocacy and a sometimes sharp temper. Win or lose, he was always thinking three steps ahead of anyone else. He had a great ability in business, not just in the short run but in the long run.
Randee was born in Peoria, IL on Sept. 11, 1953. He was a graduate of Manual High School and Bradley University. He has been employed at River City Construction for over 25 years. The past sixteen years he ran the Benton, IL branch of River City Construction and made his home in Christopher.
He loved his job, watching sports, and fishing, fishing and fishing. He was happy being with his many bass fishing buddies and had so many caring friends in Southern Illinois.
Randee was very direct and also loved a good story or joke. He got great joy out of teasing the ones he loved. His special friends and family knew his sweet and caring side.
Surviving are his father, Gerald E. Lyons of Metamora and sister, Carol A. Mattson. His mother, Phyllis (Kutkat) Lyons and sister, Jerrilee Lyons preceded him in death.
The family wants to thank his friends and family in Peoria and Southern Illinois for their caring and loving time spent with Randee. A special thank you to Dr. Michael Veeder and to Mary, Tim, and Joey Driscoll for sharing their home for two years while Randee took treatments in Peoria.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home 2408 W. Willow Knolls Dr., Peoria, IL 61614, with Deacon Bruce Steiner officiating.
