Norma L. Tankersley

She was born Dec. 24, 1930, in Lawrenceville, IL to Manuel and Maude Pargin Spore. She married Harvey Tankersley in Peoria on Dec. 22, 1956. He survives.

Also surviving are three children, Ron (Debi) Tankersley of West Peoria, Karen Tankersley of Peoria, Larry (Christina) Tankersley of Peoria; six grandchildren, Kisha, Ashley, Jasmine, Nicole, Ashleigh, Kyle; five great grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Tonya.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and her twin sister.

Norma worked in housekeeping at Methodist Hospital retiring in 1992. She was a St. Louis Cardinal fan, avid bowler in Peoria area leagues, played softball in her younger years, and loved to play bingo.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with Rev. Dwight Winnett officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services at the Chapel. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Compassus of Peoria.
