Born March 24, 1943 in Washington, Illinois to Harlan W. and Helen M. (Stimpert) Blumenshine; she married Richard L. Schmidt on October 28, 1962 in Washington. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2019.
Surviving are her children, Brian (Julie) Schmidt of Janesville, Iowa and Bruce (Nancy) Schmidt of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Joseph Schmidt, Jordan Schmidt, Jessica Schmidt, Rose (Stephen) Mimbs and Kenyon Wurster; two great grandchildren.
She was the owner of the Tin Cupboard in Chillicothe for many years retiring in 2004. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of American Legion Post 593 in Lacon and the Illinois Halfinger Association.
Nancy enjoyed rug hooking and cake decorating.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Ron Martz will officiate. Burial will follow at the Chillicothe City Cemetery.
