Nancy Sue Eckhoff

She was born on March 25, 1946 in Peoria, IL to Everett and Grace (Wilmot) Hostetler. She married Allen Eckhoff in 1965. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Virgil Hostetler.

Surviving are her two children, Michelle (Kevin) Buscher of Peoria and Michael (Bleydy) Eckhoff of The Woodlands, TX. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Zachary and Lucy Buscher, Samantha, Lucas, and Jacob Eckhoff; two sisters, Judith Driscoll of Conroe, TX and Sally Johnson of Austin, TX; and a sister-in-law, Rose Hostetler of Anchorage, AK.

Nancy spent the first several years of her marriage as a military spouse traveling throughout the United States and Germany. She worked as an Office Administrator with various Peoria area companies over the years. She also enjoyed delivering cars throughout the state for several dealerships in retirement,

Her great joy was her five grandchildren. She loved them “to the moon and back”. She loved to attend their events and cheer for them from the sidelines. She cherished those special moments with them reading and snuggling. Everyone knew about all of their accomplishments because she shared all of these moment in daily conversation with family, friends and even strangers.

Nancy enjoyed traveling, holiday gatherings with family and friends, and watching soap operas. She also enjoyed Facebook, Instagram and monthly dinners with friends. She was a strong woman with strong opinions. She was a great cook with a big heart. Nancy went out of her way to help others in any way she could. She dreamt about winning the lottery and how she would spend her winnings.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration Of Life will be on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm at Avanti’s, 8517 N. Knoxville Ave, Peoria, IL 61614. Davison-Fulton Woolsey -Wilton is in charge of arrangements.
