Mona L Mccollum

Bartonville – Mona Lee McCollum, 87, of Bartonville, passed away Monday morning, December 7, 2020. She was born in Peoria on July 7, 1933 to Horace James and Jesse Edna (Murphy) Chittum. She married Robert Charles McCollum on December 24, 1950 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2002.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debbie Lee McCollum; ten sisters; and one brother. A much loved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mona is survived by her three children, RoxAnna Kirby (Ed Smith) of Bartonville, Robert C. “Chuck” (Charlene) McCollum, Jr. of Peoria, Tina M. (Tom) Kauffman of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Chad R. (Jodi) McCollum, Scott R. McCollum, Katie (Andy) Stuepfert, Bob Kauffman (Stephanie Morrison); four great-grandchildren, Talia, Lyla, Remus, and Finley; two sisters, Beverly J. Davis of Peoria and Carol L. Gleason of Creve Coeur; and several nieces and nephews.

Mona was a proud Avon representative for over 52 years, retiring in 2017. She was also an excellent seamstress, who was always willing to repair, alter, and make clothes for her family.

Mona’s graveside service will be held for immediate family only at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Pastor Josh Kiefer will officiate. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Susan G. Komen.
