Michael "Mike" Stout

He was born Dec. 2, 1937 in Hannibal, MO to Carl and Vinita (Settler) Stout. He married his wife and best friend, Kathy, April 29, 1995 in Peoria. She survives along with two daughters: Heidi (Mike) Fenoglia of Peoria, Kim (Troy) Oder of Chicago, two step-sons: Brad (Nicki) Renner of Denver, CO, Darin (and fiancé Maria) Renner of Flagstaff, AZ, four grandchildren: Ethan and Cameron Oder, Nathan and Nicole Renner, one brother, Don (Bev) Stout of Concord, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Curtis Stout, and two sisters: Ann Dennis and Barbara Holmes.

Mike graduated from Western Illinois University and was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. He was a US Army Reserves Veteran. He worked at Plaza Tire in Peoria, Wiese Planning and Engineering in East Peoria, and most recently at Rocket Tire in Peoria.

He was a member and a three time past President of the Independent Sports Club, Peoria Elks Lodge # 20, Bartonville American Legion Post 979, and the Peoria Masonic Lodge.

In his younger years, Mike enjoyed skydiving and completed over 100 jumps. His most fervent passion in life was his family and many friends. He was an avid golfer and cherished the times spent with his golfing buddies. Mike was also an excellent gourmet cook and spent much of his time volunteering his cooking talents for the Elks, ISC, and other service organizations.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial celebration of Mike’s life will be Thursday Jan. 27, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria, and at Mike’s request, casual attire please.
