He was born May 27, 1951 in Peoria, IL to Orville and Shirley (Gilman) King. He married June A. Waters on April 3, 1976 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, David (Becky) Gray of East Peoria, Wesley (Brittney) King of Peoria, Jonathan (Nicole) King of Washington and Bradley (Anna) King of Metamora; two siblings, Edward King of Bloomington and Karen (Bruce) Skolaski of Glasford; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson.
Michael served as a Military Police officer in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his service in the Army Mike worked in the Produce Department for Del-Farms. After leaving the service Michael worked as a Mechanic with Caterpillar Inc. until retiring in 2005. After retirement he continued to work part-time as a driver for NAPA auto parts. Mike loved the outdoors, working in his yard and playing with his beloved dog Toby. He also enjoyed detailing cars and was a member of the River Valley Drifters Car Club and American Legion Post 382 in Delavan.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 5 to 7 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. A funeral service will be Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
