Mary A Henson

Mary A. Henson, age 89, of Peoria, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Heartland in Canton, Illinois. Mary was born on March 6, 1924 in Peoria, Illinois to William and Hazel (Carter) Porter.  She married Edward R. Henson in 1942 in St. Louis, MO.  He preceded her in death in November of 1978. Mary is survived by her sons, Edward (Joan) Henson of Trivoli, IL, Robert Lee (Doris) Henson of Bartonville, IL and James Ronald (Tina) Henson of Creve Coeur, IL; seven grandchildren, Angela (Mark) Bullen of Brookfield, MO, Scott (Angela) Henson of North Pekin, IL, Michael (Leann) Henson of Elmwood, IL, Chenal Anglin of Bartonville, IL, Nicholas (Tiffany) Henson of Peoria, IL, Jessica Henson of Carbondale, IL and Jim Henson of Peoria, IL; two step-grandchildren, Jill Tucker of Bartonville, IL and Scott Tucker of Glasford, IL; 26 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her daughter, Cheryl Lynn; three brothers, Roland, Robert and Bill; and two sisters, Vera Mae and Adeline.  Mary’s family would also like to thank Sherrie Wade, her niece, for the exceptional care she gave to Mary over the past few months. Mary was an inspector for Fleming and Potter retiring in 1986.  She was a member of Howett Street Christian Church.  Mary enjoyed fishing with Ed and she loved her grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 12pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with visitation two hours prior to the service.  Mary’s grandson, Rev. Michael Henson, will be officiating.  Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.  Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Canton or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
