Marian Gail Blankenship, 77, of Peoria, passed away at 10:20 AM on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 in Peoria. She was born on February 26, 1941 in Peoria to William and Marian (Abbott) Shepler. She married Ralph Blankenship on May 10, 1957 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1999 in Peoria. Her parents also preceded her.
She is survived by three children Debra (David) Mammen of Sun Lake, AZ, Jody (Carl) Bunker of Washington, IL and Al (Lisa) Blankenship of East Peoria; six grandchildren Joel Mammen, Rachel Martin, Megan Kesler, Anna Bunker, Elliott Blankenship, and step grandchild, Chelsea Ulbricht; five great grandchildren Harper, Harrison, and Elle Martin, Mallory Kesler, step great grandchild, Gianna Ulbricht ; and two siblings William Shepler and Janet Shepler both of Peoria.
Gail was a homemaker and a member of the Sunnyland Christian Church. She had volunteered with OSF Hospice and her church. Everyone called her “Grandma Bubbles”. She loved traveling and square dancing. Her favorite times were spending time with her family all together. She was involved with the Booster Clubs, working concessions and attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren.
Cremation will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Sunnyland Christian Church. Pastor Evan Williams will officiate.
