Marguerite M. Campen Wright

Peoria – Marguerite M. Wright, 95, of Peoria, IL passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 at her home. She was born September 21, 1921 in Peoria, IL to Hayo H. and Fredia J. (Mishler) Campen. Marguerite married James Carl “Buck” Wright on September 26, 1944 in Peoria, IL. Surviving are: her two sons; James Wright of Ann Arbor, MI, and Gary Wright of Peoria, IL, two grandchildren; Ethen Wright of Ann Arbor, MI and Emily Wright of Atlanta, GA, her great granddaughter Ziggy Johana Hill of Atlanta, GA, and her three sisters; Betty Ferrari, Donna Butenas, and Betty Barnum. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandparents; Wichmann and Gesina Campen and Thomas and Mary Mishler, her brother Willis Campen, brother-in-laws; Jim Thomas, Max Ferrari, Eddie Butenas, and John Barnum, and her sister-in-laws; Luella Campen and Reba Thomas. Marguerite graduated with honors from Pottstown Grade School. She went on to work at Woolworth Department Stores in Peoria for many years and was promoted to head bookkeeper. Marguerite also worked for Viking Catering Service and Chris Hoerr and Sons Warehouse Cafeteria. Marguerite was a long time member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Peoria where she and her husband were joint custodians for many years. Services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Steven Tibbetts will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 am till time of service.
