“Marcie” was born January 16, 1926 in Henry, Illinois the daughter of Clinton and Marguerite Weiss Friday. She married Donald J. Kaliher on July 4, 1952.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years; one son, Zackary C. (Mary Ann ) Kaliher of Old Orchard Beach, ME; three grandchildren, Leah of Beverly, MA, Haley of Albany, New York, and Brendan Kaliher of Old Orchard Beach, ME.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents.
Marcie graduated from Henry, IL High School and attended Bradley University. She was employed at the Henry State Bank.
In 1958 she moved to Denver, Colorado after her husband was transferred with Caterpillar. She moved to Singapore in 1967 and later Tokyo, Japan where she enjoyed frequent travels to Hawaii and many countries throughout the Far East. She was active in both the Singapore and Tokyo American Clubs.
In 1974 she returned to Peoria where she belonged to the Mt. Hawley Country Club and enjoyed playing the piano, bridge and her beloved Bears and Bulls.
Marcie was a devoted wife and loving grandmother. After her husband retired in 1989 she continued her love of travel with frequent cruises and visits to see her grandchildren in Maine.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff at SFMC as well as the professional and compassionate staff at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria.
There will be private services at a later date. The family is following her wishes and donating her body to science.
