She was born June 26, 1953 in Slaughter, MS to Benjamin and Mammie (Branch) Harris. She married Jeff Hudgins on September 4, 1976 in Greenwood, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, four grandchildren and her grandparents.
Surviving are her husband, Jeff Hudgins of Peoria; five children, Kimberly Hudgins and Lakisha (Jack)Yates both of Peoria; Anthony (Emelja) of Greenwood, MS; Bernard (Vicki) Harris and Ken (Vernice) Flukner also both of Peoria; nine grandchildren, six sisters, Lula Totter of Cleveland, MS; Mandella Moore of Peoria; Catherine Brown of Indianapolis, IN; Corrine (Robert) Daniels of Chicago; Annie Jones of Austin, TX and Ethel Mae of MN, seven brothers, Robert (Elmira) Branch; Roychester (Mannie Pearl) Harris, Bennie (Nancy) Harris and Charles Murphy all of Greenwood, MS; Willie (Pearl) Harris of Chicago; Sylvester (Gwendolyn) Harris and J.C. (Earline) Harris both of Peoria.
Maggie worked as a Housekeeper with Southside Office of Concern for many years until falling ill. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ, where she served as an Evangelist and Missionary. Maggie was a very religious woman, who loved to smile. She was family oriented and was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Peoria. The Bishop Val Johnson and Pastor Henry L. Bolden II will officiate. Burial will be on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Hudson Park Cemetery in Greenwood, MS. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
