Louis "Pete" Barnett Sr.

      Peoria, IL – Louis “Pete” Barnett Sr., 66, of Peoria, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at his home with his family by his side.    He was born Dec. 20, 1947 in Scotts, MS to Willie and Octavia (Washington) Barnett Sr.  He married Alice Gale in Peoria in 1976.  She survives.    Also surviving are his step-mother, Rosetta Barnett; 6 children, Tiffany Barnett, Carrie Barnett, Kelly (DeAndrey) Robinson, Louis Barnett Jr., Tracy Stein and Lynzi Gaiter; 12 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Rev. Grady (Ladon) Barnett, Joseph Barnett; 6 sisters, Octavia (Ebenezer) Okaiteye, Rosie Mary Thornton, Virginia Barnett, Vanilla Barnett, Grace Barnett, Doris Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.  Pete also had a special place in his heart for his nieces, Kimberly Williams and Tia Leas and his nephews, Lendsy Gaiter and Pocha Carter.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.    Pete worked as a self-employed carpenter most of his life.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.    Pete especially enjoyed the times he got to go fishing with family and friends.    Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.  Visitation will be one hour before services at the Chapel.  Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.    Online condolences may be made at www.davison-fulton.com.
