She was born on December 18, 1996, in Peoria and is survived by her parents Gary and Angela Taylor of Galesburg and Shawn Kocks (Holli) of Washington. She is also survived by her son Carter of Galesburg; sisters, Tesha Taylor, Tiffany Greenlee, Tonya Taylor, Brooklyn Delacruz, and Cheyenne Taylor; half-brother, Steven Kocks; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her loving and goofy dog, Ryker.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her brother, Corey Miller.
Kaylyn graduated from Galesburg High School in 2015. Kaylyn was active in Color Guard where she made lifetime friends. She had every t-shirt order form ready. She had the time of her life at the Disney trip the band took. Kaylyn was active in volleyball and cheerleading during junior high.
Kaylyn had a beautiful smile with the deepest dimples. She was a compassionate and caring soul. She loved animals and had a series of hamsters as a child with each of them receiving the name of Buster. Within the first week of volunteering at the animal shelter, she came home with a white cat she named Patrick after a character on Spongebob.
Kaylyn loved her son Carter, and he brought so much sunshine and love into her life. They loved blowing bubbles, coloring with chalk and playing with Matchbox cars. She loved making little holiday baskets for him with stickers, shirts, and so many fun things. Her love for “selfies” started as a young child and was her favorite thing to do with her son. Those selfies will show Carter the love she had for him as he grows up.
Funeral services will be private and cremation rites have been accorded. Private burial will take place at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel and online condolences may be left at www.davison-fulton.com.
