Kay E. Macari, 81, of Peoria passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
She was born on September 13, 1941 in Litchfield, IL to Aloys and Virginia (McClaskey) Kellenberger. They preceded her in death along with one brother, Ron Kellenberger.
She married James Q. “Jim” Macari on June 17, 1967. He survives along with two sisters, Karen Richardson and Karla (Gary) Conner; brother, Don Kellenberger; and many nieces and nephews.
Kay worked as a bookkeeper for Manor Care Services for many years until retiring. Previously she had worked at Peoria Suppliers. Kay was a member of the Independent Women’s Investment Club for 26 years with her cousins. Kay enjoyed reading books and she had a personality that lit up the room. She was loved by everyone.
Per her wishes, private family services will be held. Interment will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
