Peoria - Kathrine Ware, 76, of Peoria, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 in Peoria. She was born on March 3, 1944 in Alton, a daughter of Robert and Mattie May (Smith) Sanders. She married George J. Ware, Jr. on September 26, 1982 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2005 in Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; children's father, Willie Boyd; daughter, Kimberly Holcomb; sister, Judy Morgan; and brother, Gerald Morgan.
Kathrine is survived by her seven daughters, Stephanie Hunter-Fletcher of Florida, Crystal Boyd, Kathleen Boyd, Yolanda D. Smith, Rosalind Jackson-Boyd all of Peoria, Gina Johnson-Boyd of Indianapolis, IN, and Wendy McCall of Chicago; four sons, Stephen D. Boyd of Chicago, Henry Lee Little, Jr. of Peoria, and Dominique Ware-Jackson, Sr. and Dominique Ware-Jackson, Jr., both whom she raised from birth; one son-in-law, Clifford Holcomb of Peoria; her significant other, Richard Donovan of Peoria, whom she loved very dearly; 24 grandchildren, Chanel Hunter, Tia Hunter, Sable Hunter, Sir D. Miller-Boyd, Iqueitha Boyd, Jai D. Boyd, Julius David Lamar, Mattie Boyd, Akea Collins, Joy Winfield, Tiffany Bender, John Stringer, Eric Samuels, Preciousdream-Boyd, Kathryn McKinley, Daniela Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Jay Ware-Jackson, Dymond Jackson, Stefanie Boyd, Jade McCall, Justice McCall, Johanna McCall; 47 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Gwendolyn (Herman) Gilcrest, Bertha (David) Brown, Vickie Morgan, all of Alton, and Mary (Mark) Wilson of Killeen, TX; four brothers, Vincent (Veronica) Morgan, Julius (Lisa) Morgan, and William (Connie) Morgan, all of Alton, and Joseph (Kay) Morgan of Chicago; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kathrine worked for Sharon Health Care Willows in Peoria as a physical therapist for many years.
She was a member of the Peter H. Clark Elks Lodge #483 in Peoria. She loved music, dancing, traveling and spending time with her family.
Kathrine's funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Rev. Frank Jackson and Minister Gina Johnson will both officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. also on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria at a later date. Memorials may be made to an education fund for Dominique Ware-Jackson, Jr. care of Busey Bank.
